The Quest for More

A valiant knight with cloak of red

In armor forged in fire is clad

And charges into battle

Amid the din, the clash, the rattle of sword and shield.

Yet in honor does not yield his ground

And thus is found in legend, tales of yore.

This inspires, but there is more...

Stories told of hero masked

And burdened with the task of justice

A struggle for the right.

Who, using dark of night, now fights the dark he sees

In city streets, humanity, and in his very soul -

The voice of vengeance ever at his door,

This too inspires, still there is more...

A mighty pen, a canvas white

A mind's eye with the gift of sight to see what is not there

But draws it from its secret lair within the page.

Perhaps a druid, dragon, mage, from hidden age a beast of dread

Our valiant knight still cloaked in red

Or hero flawed but faithful still -

All that fills the artist mind with worlds to be explored.

The present once upon a time, the truth of myth and lore

The fantasies of writ and art inspire...

And point to more.
