A Question

Am I still a poet?

It’s funny how childish that sounds

“Of course I am”

“Of course I am”

“Of course I am?”

Of course...I am…

Notice how I haven’t used a  metaphor yet

Or a simile...Or any of those wonders that make a poem orgasmic

Poetry was once like food for me

I needed it daily

And I ate it oh so sloppily

Now i’m among my scraps and dirty dishes

Hollow, unlike my fuller self

My glutton for love and raw emotions so thick

So am I a poet?

Is a poet a poet if he doesn’t write?

Perhaps my writing this has satisfied

Perhaps my Question is answered...
