A Question For Depression

Why?

I ask myself why every day,

Because of you,

Yes, you.

Why can I not foster a smile today?

Why do you take the tingles of happiness away?

Why can I not leave the protection of my bed?

Why are these never forgiving thoughts pounding in my head?

Why do I have a never-ending urge to scream?

Why do I wish that the entirety of my life has been one sad and twisted dream?

Why can I not fight the constant feeling of being down?

Why can I not get my life turned around?

Why can I not grasp the comfort of being free?

Why the hell do you keep strangling me?

Yes, you,

Because of you,

I ask myself why every day.

Why?
