Question Mark

I could tell you

The world

If the world

Was quiet

If the world

Would listen

To me.

So let me try

I could do

It

Or

Not

Or

Anything at all

For sure

You wouldn't

Undestand

So you'd ask

Someone taller.

They'd tell you

You're wrong.

But you aren't.

They're wrong

'Cause they tried to correct you

When all that you had

Was a question mark.

They'll tell you

They know

And they'll tell you

Some rhyme.

How my words

Are this

Or that

Or something else entirely.

But go ahead

Don't understand

I don't care

On this one.

As long as you know

Where the heartbeat

Is

And never

Was

But always

Will be.

You wouldn't believe it

But someday

Someone

Will take your question mark

And never

Unbend it.

And I'll be okay

With that.
