Questioning Fear

They say that fear

Is the mother of all emotions,

If that is so, then her tubes need to be tied.

I just can’t handle being lied

To. Too many times has it poured ammo

Into the weapons of the diseased.

That is the cure we should be looking for

For the disease of cancerous fear.

It exists in the invisible smog

That creates turbulence and

Anxiety, and selfish waves

Like the watercolor waves that feed

on sunlight that drowns in the horizon.

I need contacts and earplugs

Because I’m beginning to get numb,

Numb to the chaos in this world,

And I’m trying to hear myself, but I can’t.

Fear dictates and mates with anger and hate.

While closing the gate

to understanding.

Here, take the lock and continue to question,

Question everything,

because answers will make you fear.
