Questions

Lying in my bed...
These questions fill my mind
Tossed and turned every night…
Hope and fear intertwined
Wondering are these colleges for me...
All of which to I’ve applied…
Each with strict conditioning?
I’m afraid to get my hopes up…
To even imagine the day I'd see...
A letter in my mailbox…
Acceptance! Congratulating me
Have I been someone special...
Or was I too scared to dare?
Knowing I’m at my wits end…
My fragile heart… would surely tear
These questions I pose to God...
Is this my destiny...
Fearful of my future...
No safe haven, so-to-speak?
But this morning I woke with purpose
A new stride within my feet
My questions all but vanished
I felt a fortress protecting me
Doubt tried to intervene...
But I’d be damned...
If I ever let fear keep me from my dreams
A child of God...
Trustworthy, Loving, Kind, and Sweet
I was searching for answers…
Which I found within me!
Blessed!
