Questions Asked...Never Answered

I lay silently in bed Rocking back and forth to the mellow crooning of a bird I can’t sleep Can’t keep you out of my mind I remember how you left me My heart is a gaping hole Where you were You took it from me, ripped it from my chest And left me there to bleed and die Why? Was I not good enough for you? Were you ashamed? Please answer me Why? I’m so confused I feel like I’m wandering through a never ending abyss Where did it start? Where will it finish? Who knows? I don’t I’m falling but why are you in my head? Why can I not forget your face? Why? I ask questions And I never know the answers Why? Do I really wanna know? My mind is a blurry vision With thoughts of what used to be us Why? Why would you take away something That was yours already? You stole candy from a baby Helpless was I to do anything What could I do? But the question still remains In my mind Why? Why can I not be your princess? I still think of you as my Prince Charming But it’s okay I understand that the grass was greener On the other side Now the question is in my mind Never to leave I’m sure you know what it is So I ask again Why?
