The Quiet

It's there. It is always there. Surrounding you. The way it manages to lose itself in you and outside of you. The place where things should never stay for too long because if it does, then the world as you experience it may be lost. The deafening sound. The ear splitting roar. The quiet.

Teachers yell for it, and parents beg for it. The fact is, when the wish is granted, it becomes too much. The joy and the laughter is gone. There is nothing. There is no one. Just the simplicity of quietness, but how complex is it really.

One can never truly experience quiet until it is obtained by the silence. The quiet. Just a simple phrase made of the two words, but a chill runs down the spine of those who have experienced the scarring noise. The quiet.
