Quiet Footsteps

My senses has upgraded and are keen enough to hear you and your silent stride

I know your reasons and intentions you have that travels through your thoughts

I find myself in a race with you, as you lead three paces ahead

I push forward, your mission should not be successful none the least

Your destination is in a few feet, I know the location well

I noticed the hesitation in your posture, this isn’t right you would agree

Your impulses are strong, stronger than your muscular physique

Your mind is weak, crippled by the bipolar entity that resides every night half past twelve

Don’t open the door, twist the knob that leads to purity

Retreat from the opening while the trust is still salvageable

Repent, leave the entrance that was once viewed as protection

The footsteps were quiet, no trail was left to accuse of a crime

I will follow you as your mind rest

I had nothing to do with this, I believe it was a test

Maybe it wasn’t your footsteps I heard from the distance

Perhaps my own ears played a trick and forward my sound waves

Glancing for reassurance, awakening for a dream of reality

My footsteps were yours
