Quiet Mentor

The smell of ink and paper

The flutter of turning pages

Faraway

            Lands

Magic

            Things

Incredible

            People

Friends.

A road trip, a journey, a quest, without ever taking a step

Sadness

Death

Despair

Hope

Life

Love

Filling my head, the words absorbed

One girl

Many stories

Shakespeare, Bardugo

Maas and Tolkien

Stiefvater, Schwab

Lewis, and Taylor

One girl

A thousand lives

Hope like a light in the dark

The written word

My constant companion

My quiet mentor

Each turn of the page like water for a sapling

As I grow into a fruitful tree of knowledge
