On A Quiet Night Like This...
A single lonely touch.
The spark is lit, and the fireflies begin their dancing.
One by one they silently lift from the earth and fly effortlessly about.
Thousands of tiny black bodies hover from thought to thought. Symphonies of opaque movement blanket the air.
The heavy evening comes alive with emotion.
Without notice, a firefly blinks on, then off again.
The action is received by ten more flashes of light. Before long, the whole crowd has joined in.
The area becomes a field of luminescence, filled to the brim with brave new epiphanies.
Darkness is smothered by a multitude of brilliant halos knitting connections through the night.
Flight is becoming frantic now,
Each body darts through the air at the speed of a hummingbird's wingbeat.
The silence transforms into a cacophony of mismatched buzzing.
Blinking torsos give way to flashes of lightning, and raindrops pelt the helpless fireflies with horrendous force.
Two souls collide, bringing the fleet to the ground instantly.
Connections dissolve into clouds of insecurity.
Light is once again swallowed by blackness.
The touch is broken.
