Quiet Time
What would I need?
Trapped on an isle
with no one to exceed
a want or a need
except for me?
The only desire I would need to feed
Is the will to survive
Without the whisper from another soul
Or the buzz from the hive.
A will to live and thrive.
To coincide
With the silence.
It would be easy to do without the news
the hatred, the violence,
the political parade,
A lack of financial aid,
This noisy charade of a social graces
Brought to you faces on a screen.
Commanding how things should be
Heard or seen.
I wouldn’t need this to survive.
With radio silence, I’d thrive.
