Quietness

Surrounded by four wall, I think out loud

My feelings, my tears, all quietness; no sound

I see my reflection in the darkness ahead.

“Keep your head up and your faith strong “

That’s what mama always said.

I take life one day at a time, like I’m dancing in plié.

This here is all mines no plagiarism, no cliché

Don’t move a muscle or make a sound.

I haven’t been thinking right lately, for my heart is in a bound.

I’m no Shakespeare, Machiavelli, or Langston Hughes

I’m just a regular girl trying to fulfill her own shoes.
