I have to admit: I read books

With topics always suited for all ages

And I don’t look at the number of pages

Well anyway, I admit that is how it looks.

All classics are a must for all to read

Even Gilgamesh with themes of growth

of love of war and of hate which I loath

Yet, each theme often plants a little seed.

These seeds in books make me think

Especially when they transport me far away

And as a result causing my mind to go astray

Moving between fact and fiction, giving me a link.

One thought of inspiration that sticks to me

Is when I select a topic to help me with my need,

Frederick D.  knew that: Once you learn to read,

you will be forever free.”

Without a doubt, he was right

What matters most is to know

When acting upon it, you will grow 

Whenever noting a quote that you recite.

Stepping up can yield results

But in order to act, you must submit

To prove to yourself that you can commit

And that’s what gets results as it instructs

So, let there be no deniability:

Each of us, we all have tremendous potential

To others, we can be inspiring and influential

And, yes with your power comes your responsibility.

Ask yourself: Do you hear or do you listen, do you read or do you see?

Use your power, your strengths, your smile

If need be, go to lengths and the extra mile.

Don’t live in blindness - Read.
