Race

When I look at you, you look away

I try to chase you but I can never win that race

I told you dreams and hopes for us

But you said it was all a rush

The day I realized what you meant I felt empty inside

I tried to move on but all I ever did was cry

You act like you didn’t care but your actions said otherwise

I crawl to you and beg for your attention

But sadly, I never won it

You are what I want and all I need

You put breath inside of me

Your blue eyes and cocky attitude makes me glow

But you’ll never wait for me because I am too slow
