On Rachel

You told me of your dreams of swimming underneath the ocean corpse dancing in the waves calm. Perhaps angels can't fly But you would try, just once You told me Pull the covers of lulling ocean over you Like a second skin (I knew that you never planned on flying it was all in the wings) The cool darkness of the ocean would conceal the porcelain of your bones sliding together like palms over silk I objected Even medusa did not hide as hard as you did Wanting to escape from the world The bottom of the ocean is deeper when you are alone.
