Why another poem about racism?

Well we wouldn’t have to keep writing these poems if people actually fucking listened to our words the first time.

So now you’re going to have to endure my words until they are tattooed into your minds.

You have the right to remain silent.

Anything you say or do can and will be used against you in a court of law.

You have the right to an attorney.

If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you.

Do you understand these right as they have been read to you?

The words the “big man” barks before throwing you into the caged back seat

Taking away your dignity

They stopped you because you looked suspicious

You’re a problem to society

Because you’re to light to be light for black but to dark to be known as a threat

A man so ignorant to take a life away from a kid that “looked like a typical black man” and no get the justice the kid deserved.

Why does society put these images into our minds?

To fear a man that supposedly sags their pants and wears clothes 3 times too big.

People so ignorant when they see a back man they clench on their purse for dear life because they think they are going to steal it from them.

It’s because society told us that men that look like that are criminals and thieves.

They say “if it’s not white it’s not right” this is complete bullshit. We are all the same no matter the color of our skin, our race, our religion. We were all made by the same creater.

But we have been programmed to think this way.

To fear a man that you have to be scared when they walk by.

Hey I’m not saying all people are like this, but there is still a shit load of people that think like this.

Little kids were taught how to hide from the police before they were taught how to read.

No one should have to fear the police I mean the police should be here to protect us, keep us safe, keep our communities safe. But instead they keep us scared. As a police officer car goes by everyone hides because they don’t want to be thrown into that back seat.

I can honestly say that this isn’t going to get better

There will still be those ignorant people that have this mind set

But we can just start with changing their minds

Stop listening to society!
