Radiate
There once was a time when I was not scared of being happy
I saw it everywhere, in the trees, in the gleams of sunlight
Colors were more vibrant than they were made to be
Things changed after a while, being happy
Was something to be scared of. It was worrisome
And happiness shouldn’t cause so much worry
Its hypocritical, in the cruelest way possible
After a while we begin to think its not worth
The hurt and worry, to be the purest thing of all
happy.
We begin to wonder if we are even worthy of the idea
of happiness and sharing it with another
And that is what makes it so damn difficult
We begin to over analyze the idea of happiness
Almost or to the point of ruining it
We then take a step back, we are afraid of being happy
Then one day we meet someone who reminds us
That colors are meant to be vibrant, radiant
They gleam with a passion, as if they’ve never been hurt
They have a strength, a way of caring themselves
That makes the scared parts of us creep out even more
They have the demeanor of someone who doesn’t need another
And being around someone like that, well it would be
Earth shattering, bone defying.
I’d crumbled at their feet knowing theyre so put together
In a way I strive for. In a way I crave to be.
When you meet someone like that, you can’t help but being happy.
You see the world as youre supposed to, that you only have one.
That the idea of taking a leap into the unknown is what life
Is supposed to be about. Taking leaps, taking the plunge.
Not knowing what comes next, being in the moment and
Not caring about the risk after the jump. Being there.
Living in the purest version of life.
Being reminded that life is meant to be simple sometimes
Even in the most innocent of ways.
Happiness comes in the simplest of forms
Even when we don’t care to acknowledge that
It can come in the way a person says hello
Or the way the air smells after a rain.
When happiness comes in the simplest forms again
Thats when everything else goes back to how it was
No confusion, no fear, no thinking
Just living. Happy. Radiating in joy.
The colors are more vibrant when you look at rainbow
You don’t even mind the rain.
Take the plunge, enjoy the rush, radiate.
Leaves are golden and auburn,
The sun is golden
You feel the rays, embrace them
The sky is cobalt,
Life is simple again.
How it was always meant to be.
So again, radiate. Set your soul ablaze again.
