Eighteen years in a hilltop house,
Too high
To see
Poverty
Discrimination
Injustice

Eighteen years behind dark tinted windows obscuring O
peeling Their grimaces look paint and
empty like grins, shouting matches like stomachs W
on the laughter, meager belongings o t h e r .
side of like fashionable the world
t r a c k s. Minimalism, rags like a fashion statement, sallow faces I t w a s
like looking in a FuN hOuSe MiRrOr.
My life was a synonym for m e a n i n g l e s s .
