Rage
Dear People that can't speak for theirselves,
Why the hell is everything one sided
Expect me to be there but won’t do the same
And you know that’s not right
Turned heads
They walk away from you
And try to hide you from everyone’s sight
You tell me be patient
I’m steady waitin’
All I wanted was 50/50 but you couldn’t act right
But you want me to stay
Holdin’ me down
So I will not stray
Stand by your side
Get through the pain
Betraying myself
Because I ain’t the same
Why is it me that hurts everyday
When I called your phone
Crying that night
I wanted it to be you
To tell me that it was all right
But I was your friend
So I chose to stay
But your love wasn’t sweet
And neither was I
But we greeted each other as if we had lied
Tusslin’ nights
Fussin’ and fightin’ searchin’ for light
I wanted the truth
You wanted to incite
Sincerely
Imani Bird,
