The Rage That Empowers Me
Anger
It runs through me
Terrifying
I want to vanquish every enemy
You've crossed me?
How unlucky
For you, and for me
I feel crazy.
Burning with an insatiable desire to slay thee
What did you say to me?
No longer can I see
I don't recognize me
Ended
I defended
That's how I justified it
It was my duty, my right
To fight with all my might
Against you and your perceived slight
So I
I can stand victoriously
In the face of he
He with so much audacity
I didn't ask for this
You knew what was expected
Of you, of me
You chose to be
To behave so inconsiderately
You made me
My anger.
It is mine and mine alone
But oh
Oh the power I vest in you to control me
By giving you the ability
To set it free
My audacity
You don't own me
Or my sanity
No person, place, or thing can come between me
And being happy
I love me
So why do I let you have any will over, below, or even above me?
Oh hell no, you won't, you see?
I'm not crazy
The power I seek out desperately
It is IN ME
Not in you
Not in spite of or even because of you
It's always been in me
I am free
I don't need to fortify my freedom or my needs
Because I am here for me
It never really was about you
