The Rain

It's raining, the heavens are raging. Or weeping? But hush, these arms of mine are for keeping you safe and warm. Let's cuddle beneath the blankets, tangle our feet, legs, arms, hand. The wind outside is cold, but your breath on my neck is warm. Hold me close, let's share our heat. Whisper in my ear that you love me. Light conversation and the comfort of love abolishes our fear of the weather above. Draw the shades and turn off the lights return to bed and hold each other close. It's not close enough, dear. Come here, come here. Lips meet and bodies shudder skin on skin. Hushed sounds, not words Still communicating, a language our own. Come closer, come closer. The heat blends. The rain ends.
