Rain

Vague conversations of love.
Short words to express the love we had for each other.
I rested my hand on your back, lightly caressing the small birthmarks to connect to make a work of art. Just like you.

You looked up at me and told me I was like the rain.

When I asked why. All you said was

“You are an art only some can appreciate”

We spoke of nature and movies.
We spoke in comfortable silences.
We spoke in actions of warm touches.
We spoke in ways no one else could communicate in.

Lay with me once again and tell me
How we were destined for each other.

-from your rain.
