The Rain

The Rain

There's something in the rain,

i can feel it dripping

Its causing me to lose sight

of the things that i've been missing

You tried to help me

but, you're the one that's slipping

i'm being pulled deep

my throat is getting choked up

i can barely breathe

the toxic rain has been soaked up

i'm a mop that takes in dirt

lifeless, one use, no worth

trying to find belonging

on this flooded earth

i'm tired and i'm drowsy

i'm feeling sad and lousy

but then i see the light

but i feel as if i'm drowning.

The rain is falling harder

and its colder than ice

You said You'd help me

and I said that'd be nice

but i'm still sitting here

and that's just not right

You love me more that anyone

or that's what You say

but when i need you most

you say i'm in your way..

As soon as skies turn blue

you turn them to deep grey

But then I learn to love myself

and it turns to a sunny day
