Rain

I walk down the street With pain tearing my heart. It feels like I have a hole, pierced by a dart. It starts to rain. I think of people. How they make fun of me every day, In each and every way. The rain starts to come down. I look at my body. The scars dot my face In every single place. It begins to pour. I look around. I don’t have a friend in the world, Which makes my head swirl. It’s raining so hard, it blinds me. I bump into a wall While the rain streams like a river, And I realize with a shiver That everyone is staring at me. I dust myself off, While wondering why they look at me strange, And why they aren’t covered in rain. Then I look up. There’s not a cloud in the sky. No puddles on the ground, to my surprise. The sky is blue, and I soon realize It didn’t even rain, not one single drop.
