The Rain

and i will cry myself to sleep tonight

again

and its okay because

the rain will cover up the sound

and my pillow will catch my tears

and caress my cheek

like a lover should

but instead the tears fall

and my body shakes

and its okay because

the blankets will wrap me tight

and the sheets will hold me close

like a lover should

but instead my eyes run rivers

and my body is an earthquake

but i will make no sound

i will make no sound

and in the morning when i wake

the pillow will be dry

the blankets will be loose

and the earthquake will have stopped

but the rain,

it keeps on pouring.
