Rain

I sit staring,

Out my window

Just watching and listening

As the Rain falls outside.

As I sit here staring

My mind begins to work

Thinking Wondering Planning

Spurred by the sound of the rising storm

The rain falls in sheets

Blanketing the surrounding views

As the Rain brings Earth

Into its soft embrace

The Waters of Life flow

Quenching the thirst of the Parched Plants

Then it eases

Rain falling in ever decreasing amounts

Until it ends

The clouds having spent their precious load

Depart to reveal the warming rays

Of the hot Summer Sun.
