Rain

The cool water coming down in a rush

Walking slowly through puddles,

Animals in their holes and people in their homes.

The rain cleaning the earth with its secret touch.

An element with power,

Causing destruction and maintaining the essence of life.

Its purity cleans our bodies inside out,

Flowing through our veins in peace.

Feeling its waves pass my body peacefully,

I feel a sudden change.

Trying to catch my breath, I panic

My heart is racing.

It once cleaned and saved me

But now, it’s power fills my lungs,

drowning me

Slowly saying goodbye,

I have felt pain that I can’t deny.

This element is a gift but also deadly
