The words hang heavy

Heavy

Like rain clouds.

A lot like rain clouds.

Saying them

lifts a weight off you.

It’s a wonderful feeling.

Like how when the rain is released

The clouds feel free.

If I just say the words,

Then I’ll be free.

If he just says the words,

Then he’ll be free.

Why can’t we be like the clouds?

Why can’t we release our rain

And let go?

Is it pride?

Is it resentment?

Are we so afraid

To forgive the other person?

Or

Are we afraid

To forgive ourselves?
