Rain Drop

Oh dear,

does treading along the edge of this bridge finally clear your conscious?

Did it help you find your way?

The clouds are buckling in now.

It is time to make a decision.

Grey and heavy,

you match the clouds tonight.

Cars speed past,

they see a woman they have never seen before,

they see a women they will never see again.

Weigh your options.

The humidity in the atmosphere is vapor in your lungs tonight.

Don't let it skew your thoughts.

Not enough years.

So much hurt.

Shaky fingers grasp the cement edge of this escape.

One rain drop cascades inches from your nose,

plummeting to the heavens below us.

Desperate to follow it.

You're not coming home tonight.
