Rain is Dry

Put down your umbrella child

For this rain is dry

Shake off your raincoat

And look up toward the sky

Dark clouds scramble

Across the great big blue

Out down your umbrella

No rain is coming through

Loud - Rumbling thunder crashes

Garden's quench their thirst

Lightnig flashes, crackles

The heavens saw it first

The Earth is sodden underfoot

Puddles pool in drives

Rivers overflow their banks

Saturation thrives

Put down your umbrella child

For this rain is dry

With your yellow raincoat sleeve

Spread your wings and fly

Your webfoot ducky rubber boots

Won't leak because their new

Put down your umbrella

No rain is coming through

Swift breezes blow the clouds away

Sun leaks through shafts of yellow

Raindrops scatter from treetops

Like melting cubes of Jello

Colors in a rainbow

A true kaleidoscope

Promises of things to come

Joy and love and hope

Mother calls out from the doorway

"Dinnertime, Sweet Sue"

Hang up your raincoat and umbrella

No more rain is coming through.

Out down your umbrella, child

For this rain is dry

Shake off your raincoat

And look toward the sky

Put down your umbrella, child

For this rain is dry

with your yellow raincoat and sleeves

Spread your wings and fly.
