The Rain Is My Peace

The rain is my peace.

My eyes were the ocean.

My heart in ruins.

I shook violently as the droplets struck me.

.

The rain is my peace.,

For she cannot see my tears.

It hides the sorrow in my expression.

She turned from me;

Shards from a broken heart laid at my feet.

.

The rain was my peace,

For it shared the rivers of my cheeks.

.

The rain remains and as do those shards that haphazardly lay upon the ground before me,

Threatening every step I make forward from you.
