The Rain Is My Peace

The rain is my peace.

My eyes were the ocean;

My heart in ruins.

I shook violently as the droplets struck me.

The rain is my peace.

For she can not see my tears.

It hides the sorrow in my expression.

She turned from me;

Shards of a broken heart laid at my feet.

The rain is my peace,

For it shares the rivers on my cheeks.

The rain remains and as do those shards that haphazardly lay upon the ground before me.

Threatening every step I make forward.
