Rain Recluse

I will grow flowers from skies

Paint grass with my thoughts

Let the grass paint me

If the sun should shine

Wind chimes drag the wind along

Be surprised by trees

And feel all the newness

When the Eclipse wanes

Washes away the days before

Wear Lolita off my shoulders

Forgive disloyal clouds

That made us doubt the stars

Angels born in spring

Wrists finally bound in peace

Let myself be just another dress for a day

Choke myself with daisies

Wear a white swan

The light deepens in perfect happiness

Ballet

But I have to leave now

I care too much about what the mirror thinks of me

I try so hard

But I look so bad

It kills me

I turn all the lights off

Apart from my hobbit hole

Where I recluse

All lights but 11

And it’s as if I could be the only person in the world

You and I romped around under the streetlights

That carried us in beacons

I heard an air conditioner roaring from a house

And I was convinced it was a monster

We danced down the golf hills and rolled

I started rolling down hills then realized it was wet

And I was ruining my clothes

But I promise I won’t care next time

The sky opened up and looked like a real galaxy

And if we fell the right way,

We’d fall into it

Bare legged

I swore not to wear it

Until I could, bare legged

In the sun

Dancing in sunlight

Or under moons and stars

He held me close

As I began to cry

Once I knew he couldn’t see me

And the sun had set, we played our game

Only if the moon is our only witness

But the moon just looks away

Who was the man in the moon?

Who got sick and tired

We polluted a home

Have a Coca Cola

Stay awhile

I think of this past and I want to end this present.
