Brilliant before my open eyes,
shinning high up in the skies.
after the rain and sun embrace,
a rainbow forms before my face.

an iridescent arch full of hues,
that arrive on sight by only God’s cues.
the seven colors of a promise He made,
of a flood that we will never, have to wade.

forty days and forty nights,
the rain that fell shut out the light.
for many people who lived in sin,
would never see the sun again.

but those who listened and were brave,
their lives and souls their God did save.
by a rainbow He promised, to never again flood,
the whole Earth by means of water and mud.
