Rainbow

Red - the color of blood and a reminder of every bad decision or mistake you've ever made to lead you to where you are.

Orange - the color of a sun rise to remind you that your struggle is almost over and soon a new day will spread like wildfire.

Yellow - the color of light and warmth to fill every molecule in your body and shake you back to the life you wish you had lived all along.

Green - the color of nature as you realize the beauty of the world around you and the greed you carry for a better life.

Blue - the color of your fall into darkness as you feel swallowed by the ocean and trashed by it's tides.

Indigo - the color of rest as you settle to the bottom of your abyss and accept your new fate among the endless midnight.

Violet - the color you feel when you get a glimmer of hope back and look forward to a new life and the colors that the future will hold.

I'm a Grad student now studying Biochemistry and Biophysics (not sure how I got there). I guess I've been using this site for nearly 8 years now though sometimes I went years without writing much of anything. I write what I feel and I write what I need to let go of. Sometimes I write about a dream or a nightmare I had, If I can tell the difference. I fell in love for poetry in high school and continued to write in college. I hope to publish a book someday as well (leave a comment if a poem speaks to you). P.S. My Instagram is @CottonCandyPoems
