Rainbow After the Storm
You are the rainbow after my storm.
What a hard year. A hard summer, a hard morning, a hard evening.
Something ominous about every hour, second, minute, tomorrow.
He had a heavyweight of expectations, left me with no meaning.
I squinted at the sun while he noticed every shadow.
I became his disciple, his listener.
There was an ugly persuasion to his whispers.
But you, Adin, held out a hand.
You tightened your grip if I started sinking through quicksand.
Stepping back and celebrating when I finally reached land.
“Alexa, you are perfect how you are, you have got to understand!”
You taught me how to fight, to remain, to conquer.
I am now a warrior who has defeated my ancient monsters.
When I am asked who or what helped save me,
It was you, your hugs, your words, and your energy.
So I am here to say thank you which is the least I can do
Because my motivation today is really because of you.
Adin Mustajbegovic, you have helped me stay warm.
Thank you for being the rainbow after my storm.
