Raindrops and Teardrops

How long will we believe the lies about the rain? When will we learn and once again be sane? The water on your window It's not precipitation, it's pain Mother Earth is crying out in agony The loss of each tree brings her to her knees The raindrops are her teardrops Forming a puddle in the sea Every withering plant and every drowning ant Brings Mother misery The flood is her trauma The hurricanes, the drama Let her cry leave her be Mother Earth has been shedding tears For many, many years She can't take the ache So let us all try to comfort her Instead of striking her face Because once we tear her down She can't be replaced The raindrops are her teardrops The wind is her cry Let's wipe away her tears As they fall from the sky
