Raining Mirrors

The titter tatter of glassy droplets fell upon my face,

Shattering across with coolness,

Bringing about a sense of joy, a true relaxation,

A feeling not yet felt.

Along came the calming wave of silence that resonated

Throughout my body and mind,

Causing the tirade of incessant, pointless thoughts,

Which had previously flooded me, to dissipate into nothingness.

Left with only my pure conscious,

I look up into the cloudy, melancholy skies

And view only the reflection of a regretful, painful, distant past

Which forced out bitter tears of the similar kind.

Disguised by the rain, the tears would pour out

While wetting the thick layer of façade born from intensive denial,

making it melt away with the rain.

Just as depression begins to take toll,

The tainted mirror which had loomed above me began to vanish.

The sweetly scented colors of life and beauty

Were returning to the surrounding haze of negativity

Which had begun to engulf me.

A blessed rainbow hanged vibrantly overhead,

Inveigling me to step out of the haze and into the ever-shining, warming, And loving sun’s rays.

Willing me to dry off the tears, peel off the façade, and live:

And live I did.
