Raining on the Neighbors
A hose that looks like a serpent,
A coconut colored fence to separate
Miniature countries.
And lets not forget the sun touched grass.
These were the things that represent.
The backyards of America.
Take a look at the hose.
You used it to control the rain like Thor.
You knew the golden field need the feel of rain..
A touch that is ecstasy for you.
And the thought of sharing the rain.
Crosses your mind.
Hey the neighbors might want some rain to.
Ya so you let it pour,
On down over at there place.
Over the Great wall of brown.
You think about how happy
Both the neighbors and your parents will be.
And also the grass.
To know that you can control the sky water.
You look on towards the sky.
Seeing if you can eye every drop of water.
Only to catch yourself with liquid on your pupil.
You could let it rain forever.
The sound of doors slamming ring in your ears.
As your befuddled neighbors come out.
What is confusing soon becomes a rancor.
As you find out that they ain’t fans of sharing.
You now hit your head every summer, and each time you wield a hose.
And decide to water the grass anyway.
Only this time you don't share.
Because apparently rain and technology
Don't go together like water and yellow glazed grass.
Some neighbors prefer to have their TV’s outside.
And In your mind.
You begin to wonder.
“Who has a TV outside?”
