Rainy Fires

I look upon the faint glow

That's the source of the warmth

Seeping into my skin,

But not to my soul.

The glow hold the memories

Of my past in its tips,

Catching my feet

When I want to flee.

It is a desert to my skin,

Yet an ocean to my heart,

I am unsure whether to

Run or Swim.
