Random Rock

Once Upon a Time 

In a land far away 

Lived a lonely prince 

Who would say 

“I want me lady”

As fine as can be 

To find her I will travel the sea

He takes off in a ship

Begins a journey 

Not knowing how long

To find him a lady 

To sing him a song 

He passes a rock where a mermaid would lay 

He didn’t know that but somehow he was swayed

To stay by the rock from night till the day 

“I want me a lady” was all he could say

The mermaid came up and saw the prince

She was convinced with one weary kiss 

The magic of love gave her her legs

Upon which she would walk 

She stumbled and fell like she was walking on eggs 

Every night she would sing the prince to sleep 

She was his princess 

For her he’d take the leap 

Soon enough their marriage was bound

A baby soon to be

The prince always grateful for he had found 

A random rock floating in the sea 

Brought him a lady as fine as can be
