A Rather Sad Fact

At any given moment she could cry.

It was not a party trick.

Not a talent, actually a rather sad fact.

At any given moment she could cry

because at every given moment she wanted to cry

because the only thing keeping her from nonstop sobbing

was a well put together facade.

A thin mask of security and peace.

Even in her moments alone she wore the mask.

The mirror in her room reflected the verion of herself she desired to be.

Every now

and then

her eyes welled and she had to meditate the anxiety far away.

Some days were better were better than others.

Today I cry.
