Rats
This society
forces us
to live like rats
in the darkness.
However,
those with
enough
power
or money,
can walk in the sun
without a care in the world.
Of course once the rats
begin to beg
the shiny folks start to care.
They use their shiny money
to hire shiny exterminators,
to keep their shiny houses shiny,
and their pretty families safe.
But who am I to judge?
Of course I am only
a rat.
