The Raven
Picture perfect moment, but yet it’s not
So deep and unknown, with no true meaning
A bird, with wings that spread so wide
Dark and beautiful, yet dangerous
Like a women he says
This is to be true, why is she so
I look to him with nothing to say
As he compares my eyes to the deep soul of a Raven
Raven in which secrets are hid
In which my hair be so black, like the wings of a Raven
He tells me that there is no other
To only see my reaction, in hopes it will change
I do not not change or even move, like a Raven
A Bird with wings that can not fly
For it is not a bird, but a soul trying to break free
Free from the life so “normal”
Normal he says, is what I am not
So I am compared to a Raven so deep and dark
Hidden behind my feather, or in my case
Hidden behind the words you have said to me
Do you not see, that I am not bird
For I am your love
A Raven you say, a heartless beast you say
Well then I shall be the beast you want me to play
Deep, Loving, and a Mystery to thee
A Raven is what I’ll be.
