Raw Flowers

He was my universe. I drank in his aura like a cosmic latte but when he took a sip of mine..he spat it out like coffee too hot for his tongue. I gave him everything, I gave him my time,

I gave him those hearts that levitated silently in my eyes,

The butterflies that flew around excitedly in my stomach,

The bees that flustered around greedily for honey in my lips,

The pigeons that delivered sweet bottled up love notes from my brain to my heart. Everything that made me feel feels.

And the worst part is I never got them back.

I was basically an emotionless system of organs which functioned individually and not as one.

My parts were broken, shattered and ground into fine pixie dust, taken away by the wind to places I could only see but wouldn't dare to touch.

I couldn't grow and as firm as my branches were, they couldn't hold up the weight of the nothingness in which the stem of my existence felt.

I survived on the hope that my seeds wouldn't rot and my leaves could still blossom.I learnt that I was a carnation and as much as I needed you to breathe, you also needed the roots of my beauty to feed the evil that nourished your bitter heart.

So I'm through feeding you,

I'm through being your life line.

I'd rather die than be the reason you still live.
