The Ray of Hope

My life was dark,

No sun shone in

I felt annoyed

And closed in by kin.

When upon the horizon

A ray of hope appeared!

I followed it along

Until the pathway cleared.

I used this ray of hope and light,

I used it all the time,

It shone brightly on me always

Although I had not a dime.

It gave life to my feelings

And a way to express

Like a weight had been lifted

And my life was no longer a mess.

This ray of hope has saved my life,

It helped me to finally see

I was not the only one who had feared

Life and Reality.

The ray of hope shines brightly still

For anyone to possess and keep

All you must do to get it,

Is keep your chin above the garbage heap!
