Reach
I've been reaching for something I can't have. I've grown up reaching for that chance to call you daddy. I tried reaching for that hand that would pick me up when I'd fall, the hand I wanted to hold and wipe away my tears.
My arm was so tired of reaching for so many years. I waited for so long for you to reach back, to take ahold of my hand and say, "Daddy's Here". Words that are so foreign to me and a hand I have never known the warmth of.

Reaching for your hand, your love, your attention, and your compassion was harder than you'd think. Like reaching for a long lost dream that will never come true.
