Reading

I open the book slowly Savoring the feel of the pages And the aroma of fresh ink I take a breath and plunge in. Savoring the feel of the pages Each one slips throuh my fingers I take a breath and plunge in And say hello to the familiar faces. Each one slips through my fingers I continue further and further And say hello to the familiar faces Who wave and welcome me. All too soon I've reached the end And the aroma of fresh ink I bid them good-bye and promise my return I open the book slowly.
