Reading

The pages slip through my fingers

As I rifle for my place

My forefinger strokes the binding

Feeling the raised title

Brings a smile to my face

I drink in the black on white

Never satisfied, always wanting

Left to right, left to right

Line after line after line

The beginning is slow

But the plot begins to thicken

I cannot tear my eyes away

As the story builds and builds

The climax is coming

All will be revealed

I must know what happens

Fingers flipping pages

Faster and faster

Almost there but then-

The bell rings
